Que el ingenio es inagotable nos lo demuestra la cantidad ingente de creaciones que los diseñadores ponen en el mercado cada día. Si al ingenio y a la creatividad unimos la pasión, surgen grandes proyectos como Skate-Home, la empresa que el arquitecto Manuel Lloréns y su esposa, la decoradora de interiores María Tamarit, han fundado hace tan solo unos meses y que ha suscitado una gran atención por parte de los medios de comunicación.

La idea surgió cuando a María se le ocurrió realizar con tablas de skate una estantería para poner los zapatos de sus hijos. Fue en ese momento, después de ver el resultado, cuando decidieron ponerse manos a la obra y unir sus dos grandes pasiones: el skateboard y la decoración.

Empezaron a pensar en más mobiliario en el que se pudiesen utilizar los elementos del skate y surgieron así percheros, sillones, sillas, estanterías, lámparas, espejos, etc., piezas que van aumentando cada día. La idea es que la gente pueda decorar su hogar, tienda u oficina con mobiliario que transmita su afición por el skateboard.

A Manuel se le ocurrió poner a los muebles nombres de los trucos y técnicas propias de este deporte (Backflip, Blunt, etc.), con lo que la gente del skateboarding se siente más familiarizada. Pero también estan llegando a otro tipo de público que compra estas piezas simplemente por su originalidad y porque introducen en la decoración de la vivienda un toque de frescura y de colorido.

"The idea came when María came up with skateboards making a shelf to put our children's shoes on. The result was so good that we decided to work more on this. That is how we join our two passions in life (skate & interior design)

We began to think of more features which could use the elements of skateboarding. This was no difficult because María once had her own furniture store. We noew make coat racks, couches, chairs, shelves and more. María has more ideas but we are taking it gradually.

The idea is that people can decorate their home, shop or office according their passion for skateboarding. In addition, Manuel started to put names of the tricks he does when skating, that way skateboarders feel more familiar with the furniture.

At first we were lucky to be published in the newspaper, that way the national television channels got interested on us, and that publicity helped more. We are very happy that we started to see skate-home articles on sites in the U.S., which is where we would like to get in the future. "
